We blend professional experience and community insight to support members and strengthen public safety, fostering trust, collaboration, and practical solutions that honor tradition and meet today’s needs.
Michael Hammett
President
Lieutenant Michael Hammett serves as the President of the Fraternal Order of Police lodge, a position he has held since 2022 after previously serving as Vice President.
A dedicated public servant with over two decades of experience, Michael has been with the Greenville Police Department for 25 years. Before entering civilian law enforcement, he honorably served four years in the United States Marine Corps.
Off duty, Michael is a devoted family man. He is married and the proud father of four children, including a local paramedic following in the public safety tradition and a student attending the University of South Carolina.
Tim Vicinanza
Vice President
Tim is a retired police officer with 28 years of service with the Suffolk County Police Department in New York. He and his family have called the Greenville area home for more than six years.
He is the proud father of twins who graduated from Furman University and the University of South Carolina, with one now married to a Greenville city police officer.
In 2026, Tim founded the Greenville Police & Fire Pipes & Drums Band. As FOP Vice President, he looks forward to growing membership and working to make positive improvements for today’s active police officers.

Mike Austin
Secretary
Mike Austin retired after 25 years with the Greenville City Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant. During his career, Mike also proudly served as a K-9 officer for several years.
Mike is a proud father of three children. His oldest is currently attending the United States Military Academy at West Point, an accomplishment Mike is especially proud of. He looks forward to continuing to serve the law enforcement community as Secretary of the Greenville FOP.
Corey Kellett
2nd Vice President
Corey is a 16-year law enforcement veteran and currently serves as a Detective with the Mauldin Police Department, where he also serves as the Executive Officer of the department’s SWAT team. Prior to joining Mauldin PD, Corey served with the Greenville Police Department, where he was assigned to Investigations.
Corey joined the FOP because he believes in giving back to an organization that has supported him throughout his career. As an FOP member, he was also able to earn his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice through an educational opportunity provided to members.

Julia Hanold
Recording Secretary- Associate Member
Julia Hanold serves as the Recording Secretary and an Associate Member of FOP Lodge 17. As the daughter of a police officer and wife of an officer with the Greenville Police Department, law enforcement has always been an important part of her life.
Julia stepped into the Recording Secretary role after her father, Tim, became Vice President of the Lodge. Outside of the FOP, she is a teacher and enjoys giving back to her community.
Julia is grateful to be part of the FOP family and is passionate about supporting officers and their families while helping make a positive difference for those who serve our communities.
